(Madrid, January 11, 2021)<\/span><\/p>\n Edmundo Tovar<\/strong>, member of the\u00a0<\/span>eMadrid Network<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>and coordinator of the\u00a0<\/span>GICAC group<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>at\u00a0<\/span>Universidad Polit\u00e9cnica de Madrid<\/strong>,\u00a0is the new\u00a0president of the\u00a0<\/span>IEEE Education Society.<\/strong>\u00a0The IEEE Education Society is considered the most important educational reference in the\u00a0<\/span>IEEE 8 Region<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>(Europe, the Middle East and North Africa) and is in charge of organizing events of special relevance, such as EDUCON.<\/p>\n Edmundo Tovar’s career is long and his research interests include fields such as\u00a0<\/span>open education, e-learning or learning technologies<\/strong>. He has served as associate dean for Quality and Strategic Planning and as executive director of the Open Education Office at Universidad Polit\u00e9cnicda de Madrid.
