Abstract<\/h2>\n

In the current scenario there is great interest in better understanding how learning happens and how it can be adapted and personalised. MOOCs have provided new and unique research opportunities in this field. In these open masive courses a large number of students can be registered, coming from different countries and with different educational profiles. The data collected through them offers a enormous statistical value.<\/span><\/p>\n

This talk will include some of the research, including some promoted by the GICAC group of the UPM, developed in this field, in which there are frequent collaborations in the collection of data between the different actors involved in the life cycle of MOOCs, whether authors, institutions or platform providers, among others.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bio<\/h2>\n

Edmundo Tovar i<\/span>s associate professor at the Universidad Polit\u00e9cnica de Madrid(UPM), PhD in Computer Science (1994) and graduated in Computer Science (1986) from the UPM. He has been consultant in Quality Assurance for several institutions and expert and vice-dean for Quality and Strategic Planning of the ETS of Computer Engineers at the UPM. He is currently a member of the Accreditation Committee for EUROINF of ANECA (European Seal of Quality for Informatics). He works in the management, research and promotion of Open Educational Resources (OER) and leads the Innovation Group GICAC in the UPM. He has served as an elected member of the Board of Directors of the OpenCourseWare Consortium (2009-2013), executive director of the OpenCourseWare Office of the UPM (2008-2012) and executive director of the Office of Open Education of the UPM (2013-2016).<\/span><\/p>\n
