Abstract<\/h2>\n

There is a gap between the digital and the physical learning outside and inside of s<\/span>chools.\u00a0<\/span>Within teacher formation it is hard to bridge this gap.\u00a0<\/span>Universities train future teachers for a world that becomes more and more digital, but\u00a0<\/span>send them to schools of the past, that are dominated by physical learning.\u00a0<\/span>Seminar rooms at universities seldomly reflect what the \u00abmeeting\u00bb of the digital with the\u00a0<\/span>physical could mean for teaching and learning in schools at these different levels.\u00a0<\/span>Elder university lecturers themselves learned more with the physical than the digital and\u00a0<\/span>some stayed kind of \u00about of date\u00bb.\u00a0<\/span>The presentation focusses on the university classrooms at the LMU as a measure to\u00a0<\/span>bridge this gap in order to realize a more seamless but still seam-aware approach to\u00a0<\/span>media teacher formation.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bio<\/h2>\n

Doctor Michael Kirch is academic counsel at the department of Pedagogy and Rehabilitation\u00a0<\/span>at the LMU in Munich, focusing on Primary Education and Media.\u00a0<\/span>As a primary school teacher he worked in different countries. Before realizing his PhD\u00a0<\/span>project on early foreign language acquisition by watching television he worked for several\u00a0<\/span>years for different media companies. He is i<\/span>n charge of the LMU University Classrooms, a special form of video\u00a0<\/span>labs for teacher training.<\/span><\/p>\n
