Abstract<\/h2>\n

In this talk, the 3E (Enrich, Extend and Elevate) pedagogy will be introduced for teaching\/learning with Open Educational Resources (OERs). This involves enriching lectures with OERs, extending classroom learning by suggesting OERs and elevating student learning by creating OERs. Bio<\/h2>\n

Dr Henry C. B. Chan received his B.A. and M.A. degrees from the University of Cambridge, England, and his Ph.D. degree from the University of British Columbia (UBC), Canada. He is currently Associate Professor and Associate Head in the Department of Computing, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He has co-authored a textbook on e-commerce (published by John Wiley and Sons (England)) and research papers in various journals. He was Chair (2012) of the IEEE Hong Kong Section and Chair (2008-2009) of the IEEE Hong Kong Section Computer Society Chapter. He was General Chair of the IEEE International Conference on Teaching, Assessment, and Learning for Engineering (TALE) 2012 and is a steering committee member of IEEE TALE. He is currently Editor of MERLOT (Computer Science) (endorsed by IEEE Computer Society and IEEE Education Society). He was the recipient of the 2015 IEEE Computer Society Computer Science and Engineering Undergraduate Teaching Award (“for outstanding contributions to computing education through teaching, mentoring students and service to the education community”). At PolyU, he has received four President’s Awards (including two teaching awards) and six Faculty Awards.
