Abstract<\/h2>\n

The University of Southampton has created 12 MOOCs to date, and these have been delivered a total of 27 times on the FutureLearn Platform to nearly 200,00 learners. Developing and delivering such a large quantity of learning materials for such a huge audience requires careful planning and resource scheduling. Our courses need to be produced to the highest quality standards to ensure that we don\u2019t risk damaging the reputation of our university. So how did we ensure that we have created and delivered quality on-line courses?<\/p>\n

This presentation will begin by giving a brief overview of the co-creative process that academics, learning designers, online facilitators, librarians, lawyers and the media production team use to develop, manage and deliver content. It will then continue by illustrating how the team have identified good practice from the lessons learned over the last two years. Finally, it will propose a framework for a peer review process that allows close monitoring of progress to ensure quality.<\/p>\n

Bio<\/h2>\n

Kate Dickens is the University of Southampton\u00b9s MOOC Programme Lead and she is involved at every stage the MOOC life cycle, from helping to write proposals for new courses to making sure completed courses are up and running smoothly. She has over twenty years experience in online learning as a programme manager, learning designer, learning technologist, staff developer and researcher.<\/span><\/p>\n
