Remote laboratories are software and hardware tools that enable students to experiment with real equipment through the Internet. Accessing real equipment remotely has many advantages, such as flexibility (in time and location), but the most important one is that it has the potential to drastically reduce costs through laboratory sharing among different institutions. By sharing labs, institutions also have access to more laboratories maintained by other universities. Pablo Ordu\u00f1a got his PhD in the University of Deusto, with a PhD research visit in the Massachusetts Institute of Technology; as well as graduated from the Global Solutions Program of the Singularity University in NASA AMES.
