In the last years years, e-learning technologies have successfully overcome the challenge of a significant transformation in education, especially during the global pandemic. In this situation, we have been able to scale many of the technologies that, so far, were only experimental, and it has been done it a successful way. This presentation shows some of the advances that have been consolidated, such as the effective scaling up of online learning and hybrid education systems including online laboratories as well as the development of standardized and curated educational resources. New challenges of security of e-learning environments have emerged. These challenges commended the use of artificial intelligence in education to minimally respond to disruptions experienced.<\/p>\n

Miguel Rodr\u00edguez <\/span>Artacho<\/span>\u00a0is <\/span>a <\/span>researcher and <\/span>an <\/span>associate professor at UNED<\/span>, a Distance Education <\/span>University in Spain. <\/span>His m<\/span>ain research focuses on the development of learning content specifications to model individual and collaborative learning processes, learning resources and tools. <\/span>He was <\/span>a member of the <\/span>editor<\/span>ial board<\/span> and <\/span>C<\/span>o-<\/span>C<\/span>hair of the IEEE SA <\/span>Std. <\/span>1876<\/span>-2019<\/span>Working <\/span>G<\/span>roup<\/span> on <\/span>Standard <\/span>on<\/span> Networked<\/span> Smart <\/span>Learning<\/span> Objects for Online Laboratories<\/span>, and p<\/span>articipates in <\/span>other <\/span>Learning Technology standardization groups <\/span>such as<\/span> CEN-<\/span>TC353<\/span>, ISO-JTC1\/SC36<\/span>.
