Abstract
In this presentation we will show how video games can be used in a multitude of sectors that go beyond mere digital entertainment. It will show how video games can have a huge impact on any sector of society. We will show different serious video game projects in which I work in my professional environment (either at an academic level or at an industrial level).

Antonio J. Fernández Leiva is Director of the Strategic Chair of videogames, gamification and serious games at the UMA (https://catedravideojuegos.uma.es/), Director of the Master of Videogame Creation at the University of Malaga (http://mastervideojuegos.uma.es/) and Co-founder and project manager of the company ‘A bonfire of souls’ (http://abonfireofsouls.com/). In addition, he serves as Director of the Spanish Network of Excellence for R + D + i and Science in videogames (ridivi.es), Co-founder and member of the Spanish Society for Videogame Sciences (secivi.org) and is Full Professor of the University of Malaga.
