Granted the continuation of the eMadrid project on educational technologies
The eMadrid research project on “Research and development of educational technologies in the Community of Madrid” has been selected as a recipient of aid in the call for proposals from the Community of Madrid and will be financed starting in October 2014. The award of this This project represents the continuity of the eMadrid project, which has provided excellent results in the 2010-2014 period, becoming a national and world benchmark in e-learning.
The coordinator of the project, Professor Carlos Delgado Kloos, received last Wednesday, October 22, the diploma certifying the award of the project in the act chaired by the Hon. Mr. Ignacio González, President of the Community of Madrid.
The eMadrid project will contribute to the advancement and application of information and communication technologies in education (elearning), giving continuity to the eMadrid network, and facing new challenges in the area and increasing the transfer of knowledge. Having a better education is a key objective for society since it results in better professionals, which increases production and its quality, making a better society for all. Improvements in education thus have an impact on parameters such as employability, production or the country’s wealth. Educational technologies enable new ways of teaching/learning that imply the improvement of the educational process.
The universities that make up the consortium are the Carlos III University of Madrid (UC3M, coordinator, responsible: Carlos Delgado Kloos), Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM, responsible: Pilar Rodríguez Marín), Complutense University of Madrid (UCM, responsible: Baltasar Fernández Manjón), National University of Distance Education (UNED, responsible: Miguel Rodríguez Artacho), Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM, responsible: Edmundo Tovar Caro), Rey Juan Carlos University (URJC, responsible: Gregorio Robles Martínez). In total, approximately 140 researchers from these 6 entities will participate in the project. In addition, there are 76 associated entities such as other universities, companies, research institutes or colleges.
