Conference of Professor Eric Grimson at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid

El profesor Eric Grimson, rector del Instituto Tecnológico de Massachusetts (MIT) y profesor de la Facultad de Medicina de Harvard, visitó Madrid los días 15 y 16 de diciembre. Fue invitado a varios actos celebrados en su honor, entre los que destacó la conferencia que impartió en la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM) –miembro del consorcio EdX desde marzo de 2014–.

El 15 de diciembre, el Prof. Grimson participó en un desayuno del Foro España Innova, que se celebró en el Hotel Ritz (Madrid). Este evento fue organizado por Nueva Economía Fórum, con el patrocinio de Asisa y la colaboración institucional del Ministerio de Investigación, Desarrollo e Innovación. Este acto estuvo a cargo del Rector de la UAM, el profesor José María Sanz.

The same day, Prof. Grimson was speaker at the Workshop entitled “Innovation in Education” organized by the UAM and Santander Universities. Estrella Pulido, Professor of the Higher Polytechnical School of the UAM, introduced the speakers at the Workshop: Prof. Grimson and Prof. Andrés Pedroza. In this workshop, they offered their point of views about innovation in education and the development of edX platform and UNIMOOC platform.

On 16th of December, The University Autónoma of Madrid was honoured by the presence of Prof. Grimson. There, he gave a conference for teachers and students, entitled “Online Learning: Shaping the Future of Higher Education on and off Campus”.

In this conference, he spoke about educational innovation, MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) and the future of Higher Education.
