2 new seminars of the UNESCO Chair "Scalable Digital Education for All" in 2015
The UNESCO Chair “Scalable Digital Education for All” at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid directed by Professor Carlos Delgado Kloos, continues its activity in 2015 with the celebration of two new seminars. The first seminar will be held on January 9 under the title of “Physics Education with Active Learning Methodologies and Technology Support“. The renowned MIT Professor Peter Dourmashkin will present the TEAL initiative, a format and pedagogical approach used for more than a decade at MIT for teaching and learning in introductory physics courses. In addition, professors Mª Blanca Ibáñez and Antonio de Castro from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid will present practical experiences of using augmented reality to explain complex concepts of physics through experimentation.
The second seminar will be held on February 3 and is entitled “Experiences and best practices on MOOCs“. Three experienced professors that have participated in the design and implementation of MOOCs in different institutions will share their expertise in this seminar: Mar Pérez-Sanagustín from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (and formerly from UC3M), Juan Quemada Vives from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, and Antonio Rodríguez de las Heras from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.
