UTEID: Best Practice Guidelines for MOOCs
The Unit for Educational Technology and Teaching Innovation (UTEID) at UC3M, promoted by the Vice-Chancellor for Infrastructure and Environment and by the Vice-Chancellor for Bachelor Studies, comes to promoting innovative methodologies based on new technologies and to fostering teaching excellence.
One of the main lines of work of the UTEID is to support teachers involved in the UC3M Khan Academy, SPOC UC3M and MOOC UC3M projects, preparing tutorials for creating educational resources and best practice guidelines for the preparation, development and monitoring of MOOCs. Among guidelines developed by the UTID are as follows:
- Good practice guide for creating educational videos: provides a set of guidelines and best practices from the point of view of inherent methodology in creating an educational video. These videos may be intended for students of zero, SPOCs or MOOCs courses.
- Teacher’s guide for planning, design and development of a MOOC: covers all the steps inherent in the process of planning, design and development of SPOCs and MOOCs.
- Student’s Guide to follow a MOOC: provides students registered in MOOCs a series of recommendations to facilitate the work in the course, including topics such as time commitment, work environment, technical problems or communication.
