Join the “Con nosotras. It's Time to Hack” hackathon. 27-29 November

Con nosotras It’s Time to Hack” project has been promoted by the Department of Women and Equality of the City of Getafe, in collaboration with the municipal company GISA within the European initiative URBAN for La Alhóndiga neighborhood. eMadrid network members will collaborate with the workshops to be held between 27 and 29 November.

The project goal is to raise technological vocations among young women and break the gender digital divide, as well as to make visible the role of women working in or with technology or in technology-based companies.

The project consists of three phases: (1) seminars in secondary schools in the neighborhood of La Alhóndiga Exchange to educate the students on this issue and train them in new technologies. (2) Visits to community technology centers where women are working at. (3) Hackathon to be held from 27-29 November at the Civic Center of La Alhóndiga, Getafe. During the hackathon there will be workshops of technological dissemination and the best projects developed and presented during the conference will be awarded prizes. Projects must have goals aligned with the philosophy of the initiative: provide solutions to gender issues based on innovation and new technologies.

Jose Antonio Diaz Jaime, Valentin de la Cruz Barquero and Carmen Fernández Panadero, from the Telematics Applications and Services Group at Carlos III Universidad Carlos III de Madrid will participate in this initiative by providing technological dissemination workshops related to simulation and virtual worlds.
