Open Education Week 2016
During the last week, from the 7th to 11th of March, It was celebrated the Open Education Week, a set of events organized by universities of all over the world whose goal is create awareness about the free and open education opportunities that exists for everybody.
Issues such as the Open Badges were treated at the University of Southampton, as the neediness to obtain recognition for qualities and achievements outside the classroom,
or the Wikipedia project at the Library of the University of Belgrade, Serbia.
In the same way, Universidad Carlos III de Madrid participated the 8th of March with an event called “Libraries and MOOCs: Experiences at Spanish Universities” where universities like UPF, UNED y UC3M collaborated. Some aspects covered such as, the situation of Open Education at their institutions, the need for formal/informal support teams, recognizing the library service in its support role to Open Education projects and the library as a promoter and leader of Open Education.
The eMadrid project took part in this events in 2013 and 2014.
