Álvaro Sanmartín Cid works as Growth Director at Udacity in Europe. Prior to Udacity, he co-founded and ran the Ed-Tech company, Floqq, and the educational non-profit projects Netday and Thinkids. He is an electrical engineer from the Polytechnic University of Madrid and has complemented his studies at Berkeley University, Harvard University, and 500 Startups, one of the main startup incubators in San Francisco. Álvaro was named a Global Shaper by the World Economic Forum in 2013.
