WAPLA@EC-TEL 2016
The second edition of WAPLA@EC-TEL Workshop took place the past September 16th in Lyon, France. This workshop aims at analyzing with an applied and practical perspective different issues and challenges related to learning analytics. Learning analytics can be broadly defined as the methods and techniques to reach conclusions about the learning process in order to improve it.
Once again, Carlos Delgado Kloos and Pedro Muñoz Merino, coordinator and member respectively of eMadrid network, chaired the workshop and participated with a conference about sobre “Design of Adaptive Systems for Computer-based Learning”. UNED also participated with a conference called “Defining a Novel Ontology for Educational Counselling based on Professional Indicators”.
McGraw-Hill Education organized a Hands-On-Tutorial about Educational Data Mining with Python and Apache Spark y participated with a conference about “A Technical Primer on Item Response Theory”. In addition,projects LACE, SHEILA and SNOLA about learning analytics were presented.
