{ Madrid, 27 mar. 2019 } “ACM-W Informática para tod@s” celebrates its fourth edition on the 28th and 29th of March in La Coruña with the aim of promoting the role of women in the field of technology, in Spain. We would like to highlight one of the talks of its interesting programme, given by Ruth Cobos, professor at UAM (Universidad Autónoma de Madrid) and eMadrid member, on “Informatics applied to education: advances and contributions of informatics to the field of education”.
ACM-W is an international committee within the ACM (Association for Computing Machinery) that promotes the full participation of women in all aspects of the computer field. Some of its most recent actions have been the organization of the European celebration womENcourage which is held annually in Europe since 2014, and which has attracted more than 200 people among students, teachers and professionals in the sector.
In 2016, “ACM-W Informática para todos@s” joined this family of national celebrations in Spain, with the aim of making visible the role of women in computing and facilitating the meeting and exchange of ideas with people who share spanish as a language.
