Edmundo Tovar, new president of the IEEE Education Society

Edmundo Tovar, member of the eMadrid Network and coordinator of the GICAC group at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, is the new president of the IEEE Education Society. The IEEE Education Society is considered the most important educational reference in the IEEE 8 Region (Europe, the Middle East and North Africa) and is in charge of organizing events of special relevance, such as EDUCON.

Edmundo Tovar’s career is long and his research interests include fields such as open education, e-learning or learning technologies. He has served as associate dean for Quality and Strategic Planning and as executive director of the Open Education Office at Universidad Politécnicda de Madrid. In addition, he is executive director of the UPM Office of Open Education and vice president of educational activities of the IEEE Education Society.
