The eMadrid Network gets ready for WEEF / GEDC 2021
The eMadrid network will be very present at the WEEF / GEDC 2021 congress (World Engineering Education Forum / Global Engineering Deans Council), organized by project members Edmundo Tovar (UPM) and Manuel Castro (UNED), together with Hans J. Hoyer and in collaboration with the International Federation of Engineering Education Societies, the IEEE Education Society and the Madrid Convention Bureau.
The event, which will take place between November 15 and 18 in a hybrid format, will also be attended by the eMadrid coordinator, Carlos Delgado Kloos (UC3M), who will act as Program Co-Chair, co-chairing the Congress Program Committee . In addition, he is expected to present the paper Educational Pyramids Aligned: Bloom’s Taxonomy, the DigCompEdu Framework and Instructional Designs. On the other hand, he will also participate as Vice-Rector for Strategy and Digital Education at UC3M in the closing session, in which other eMadrid members will also be present, such as Edmundo Tovar (UPM) and Manuel Castro (UNED), and the Vice-Rector for Research, knowledge transfer and scientific dissemination of the UNED, Rosa María Martín Aranda.
Lifelong Learning in a Changing World: A Vision from the eMadrid Project is the title chosen for the eMadrid panel session, in which we will listen to Carlos Delgado Kloos (UC3M), Ruth Cobos Pérez (UAM), Baltasar Fernández-Manjón (UCM ), Miguel Rodríguez Artacho (UNED), Edmundo Tovar (UPM) and Ángel Velázquez Iturbide (URJC). Sergio Martín (URJC) and Pedro J. Muñoz Merino (UC3M) will be the Session Chair and will moderate the session.
The interventions of eMadrid members do not end here: the PROF-XXI project, coordinated by UC3M and which includes Carlos Delgado Kloos and Carlos Alario-Hoyos, among others, will also have its space at WEEF / GEDC 2021, through the round table PROF-XXI: Teaching and Learning Centers to Support the 21st Century Professor.
In the opening session there will be representation from the Madrid universities and their rectors: Ricardo Mairal, from UNED; Guillermo Cisneros, from the UPM; and Juan Romo, from UC3M.
WEEF / GEDC is a meeting point that seeks to promote compliance with UNESCO’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in the field of higher education. It sets, for example, goals and targets for quality sustainable education (SDG 4). WEEF / GEDC covers very diverse aspects of higher education and, in particular, engineering education, the creation of a sustainable development of technical and soft skills, inclusive and effective education in terms of learning outcomes, related to the professional market and entrepreneurship. The theme of the congress “Diversity and Ethics in Education for an Inclusive and Sustainable World” implies a deepening of the application of engineering and education for a more inclusive and sustainable world.
