«Towards online credentialing: the experience of Federica Web Learning»

Abstract
The presentation will give an overview of the evolution of online credentials from the perspective of the Federica MOOC platform. From single course certification to stackable credentials, market-led models and academic credit exchange, the presentation considers the scope, form and direction for MOOC-based credentials, and discusses the position and role of Federica in the Italian context of micro-credentials.
Bio
Ruth E. Kerr heads the Internationalisation department at Federica Web Learning, the Centre for Innovation and Experimentation in multimedia distance learning at the University of Naples Federico II. Her academic interests include MOOCs and multilingual learning environments, and she has recently managed the design and delivery of a series of scalable, interactive language MOOCs with competency-based assessment and certification.
