Carina González and Pedro Plaza Merino Free RegistrationAbstract
Throughout this talk, Carina and Pedro will tell us about the MOOC in which they have collaborated. This focuses on presenting a combination of teaching methodologies, educational robotics tools, and a student learning management methodology. All of this focused on reinforcing the presence of women in engineering, in addition to other underrepresented groups in engineering, promoting diversity and inclusion. This course is developed in collaboration with the IEEE Education Society, the DIECCTQAI (Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering) of the UNED, the IEEE, the Spanish Chapter of the IEEE Education Society, the IEEE Student Branch of the UNED and Plaza Robotics.
Bio
Carina González is Full Professor of Architecture and Computer Technology in the Department of Computer and Systems Engineering at the University of La Laguna (Spain). She has a PhD in Computer Science (2001) from the University of La Laguna and a PhD in Social and Education Sciences (2020) from the University of Huelva (Spain). She is an expert in e-learning, gamification, and engineering-related gender studies. She is a senior fellow at the IEEE, contributing to the Education Chapter and promoting equality and equity in engineering studies.
Pedro Plaza has a PhD on Industrial Engineering from UNED, he is an expert in electronic systems and has extensive experience in the design of electronic systems for the control of rail traffic. In addition, he is a senior member of the IEEE, contributing, among other things, as president of the IEEE student branch at UNED.
