FICOD 2015, "The impact of MOOCs in higher education"

FICOD, the most prominent event in the digital economy sector in Spain, will host the seminar “The impact of MOOCs in higher education” on 3 December at 1pm. The panel of speakers of the seminar will include major national and international experts on the use of MOOCs in universities, such as Anant Agarwal, edX, Catherine Mongenet, Université Numérique de France, Martín Rodríguez Jugo, IE Business School, Paloma Barba Contera, Telefónica Digital Education, Vicent Botti, Universidad Politécnica de Valencia, and Carlos Delgado Kloos, eMadrid network coordinator.

Massive open online courses are contributing to the democratization of higher education, facilitating access to students to training provided by educational institutions worldwide. The provision of this new type of training represents an interesting challenge for educational institutions. With the participation of one of the pioneers in the MOOCs sphere, Anant Agarwal CEO of edX, this seminar will attempt to answer the questions that are arising regarding MOOCs, its impact on formal education, business models or the technological challenges they face to facilitate concurrent access to thousands of student.
