Abstract
Even today, there are institutions that, due to technical problems, lack of workers with the appropriate skills, or because they do not have a sufficient budget, do not have an internet connection in the classroom where technology-related subjects are taught. Through this article we propose a new hybrid teaching method that combines the Open Massive Online Course (MOOC) and face-to-face work of the students. First, we present the problems identified. Secondly, we define both the classroom resources and the educational resources we have used. In a next step, we describe in detail the architecture of the system and the communications that are cesariats. In order to ensure that the proposal is valid, we have conducted pilot tests in different learning environments. These results are analyzed. The result of the evaluation of the pilot tests shows that the proposed learning framework clearly exceeds the expectations we had set out in the initial scenario.

Pedro Plaza is currently pursuing the Ph.D. degree in Industrial Engineering at the ETSII (Industrial Engineering School) of the Spanish University for Distance Education (UNED). He received the M.Sc. degree from the ETSII (Industrial Engineering School) of the UNED, Madrid, Spain, in 2013. Also, he has an Industrial Engineering degree of the Carlos III University of Madrid (UC3M), in 2010. He is currently R&D project engineer at Siemens Rail Automation. Pedro is also editorial board member in International Journal of Automation and Robotic Technology in Inderscience. He is the author of several publications in prestigious conferences. Pedro has collaborated on several research projects. He is a member of the IEEE, the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society, the IEEE Education Society the IEEE Young Professionals and IEEE Women in Engineering. Also, he is president and WIR chair in the IEEE student branch of UNED.
