Virginia ArranzInstituto de Ingeniería del Conocimiento
Abstract
The promotion and development of transversal skills in college students is essential to improve their employability. The concept of professional qualifications has evolved and companies need professionals who are able to innovate, to manage change and to function effectively in a highly competitive, dynamic and uncertain environment. In this talk the methodology and tools that can cope with this need are presented, trying to cover the gap between universities and industry regarding skills by eLearning. As a success case, the Skills Development Program at UAM, through which over 8,000 students were formed since 2005, will be briefly described.
