Gran éxito del congreso Frontiers in Education 2014 celebrado en Madrid, con grandes contribuciones de miembros de eMadrid
22-25 de octubre de 2014
The prestigious Frontiers in Education 2014 (FIE 2014) congress, in its 44th edition, took place in Madrid from October 22-25 at the Meliá Castilla hotel convention center. The Frontiers in Education conference is held annually and is one of the most important conferences worldwide in the field of engineering education, organized by the IEEE and ASEE associations. This is the first time that the congress has taken place in Europe. It was the IEEE Education Society (IEEE) that founded the conference in 1971. The American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) joined as a co-sponsor in 1973. In 1995, the IEEE Computer Society became one of the sponsors and together these three groups have continued to celebrate editions of very high quality, being considered among the two most important world events in this field, together with the conference organized by ASEE.
Professors Manuel Castro (UNED) and Edmundo Tovar (UPM), members of the eMadrid network, have been the general Chairs of the conference, taking charge of its organization. Likewise, the coordinator of the eMadrid network, Professor Carlos Delgado Kloos (UC3M), has been in charge of giving the keynote talk at the opening of the congress.
The Frontiers in Education 2014 congress has been a great success, with the participation of around 600 educational experts, with 48 countries represented, a total of around 900 articles delivered, around 500 accepted and with an excellent program that has covered topics such as game-based learning, MOOCs, remote laboratories, pedagogical aspects, learning analytics, skills or curriculum design.
