Summary
Learning Analytics is a scientific discipline that has got lately a lot of attention. Capturing data of the learning process and processing them allows teachers to know the effectiveness of their teaching efforts, students to be exposed to the activities and contents they need for improving their learning and scientists to learn how learning works and identify the best teaching practices.
The Learning Analytics Summer Institute of Stanford University is a conference organized by this university and SoLAR (Society for Learning Analytics Research) from 1 to 5 July 2013 (http://www.solaresearch.org/events/lasi/). A number of activities are organized around the world in association to this conference. LASI-local Madrid is organized by the eMadrid network, which includes several of the universities of the Region of Madrid, on 5 July 2013 at the Leganés campus of UC3M.
Several of the most interesting sessions of Stanford University from the days before will be played in the morning, followed by discussion sessions. In the afternoon, there will be presentations by the eMadrid members. At the end of this session, the inaugural talk from Friday at the University of Stanford will be shown. This seminar is organized in conjunction with SNOLA (Spanish Network of Learning Analytics).
