MOOC realizado por miembros de eMadrid para la plataforma MiriadaX
Last Tuesday, February 5, a MOOC (Massive Online Open Course) began on the Miriada X platform, carried out by members of the UC3M group in eMadrid. Under the title “Digital education of the future”, the course consists of four modules and lasts nine weeks. During this period, a review will be made of the way in which ICTs are affecting educational processes. To follow the course, you will only need free registration on the Miriada X platform.
MOOCs already have five years of history and their growing importance is still developing. Apart from the usual dislocation of space and time dedicated to the educational process in which ICT-supported education abounds, this type of course defines its peculiarity in its massive and open nature. The courses included in the Miriada X platform are endorsed by the educational institutions that carry them out, which today are 16 Spanish universities and 2 Latin American ones.
Apart from the aforementioned course carried out by the UC3M group, another connection between the eMadrid network and the Miriada X platform is the cooperation of its UNED group with the CSEV Foundation (Higher Center for Virtual Education), a collaborating entity in the Miriada X platform. Likewise, and as a result of this cooperation, the eMadrid seminar held on January 14 at the UCM included a presentation entitled “The importance of Learning Analytics in massive and open online courses: the examples of the unX community and the UNED COMA project”. (UNED COMA is the UNED MOOC platform.)
