Francisco José García Peñalvo is a University Professor (accredited to University Professor) of the Department of Computer Science and Automation at the University of Salamanca (USAL), with 2 six-year research periods and 3 recognized five-year teaching periods. Since 2006 he has been the director of the Research Group Recognized by the USAL (and Excellence Group of Castilla y León) GRIAL (Research Group on InterAction and eLearning). He is director of the Consolidated Research Unit of the Junta de Castilla y León (UIC 81). He has been Vice Dean of Innovation and New Technologies of the Faculty of Sciences of the USAL between 2004 and 2007 and Vice Chancellor of Technological Innovation of this University between 2007 and 2009, period in which he implemented the Virtual Campus, the Institutional Repository and the Scopeo Repository, among other milestones related to innovation. He has been the researcher responsible for 13 teaching innovation projects (5 regional and 8 local) and has participated in another 26 (3 European, 4 national, 3 regional and 16 local).
